Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply for the SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Recruitment Exam 2022:
Age Limit: The minimum age limit for candidates is 18 years and maximum age limit is 30 years. However, there will be relaxation in upper age limit for reserved category candidates as per government norms.
Educational Qualification:
- For Stenographer Grade C: Candidates should have completed their graduation from a recognized university or institution. b. For Stenographer Grade D: Candidates should have passed class 12th or equivalent from a recognized board or university.
Skill Test: Candidates must have stenography skills in either Hindi or English as per the requirement of the post.
Application Process:
The application process for SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Recruitment Exam 2022 will be online. Candidates can apply through the official website of SSC. The application fee for the recruitment is Rs. 100/- for General/OBC candidates while SC/ST/PWD/women candidates are exempted from paying any fee.
The steps to apply for SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Recruitment Exam 2022 are as follows:

Selection Process:
The selection process for SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Recruitment Exam 2022 consists of three stages:
Computer-Based Examination: Candidates will have to appear for a computer-based examination which will consist of objective type questions based on General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension.
Skill Test: Candidates who qualify the computer-based examination will be called for a skill test. The skill test will be conducted to assess the candidate’s stenography skills in either Hindi or English.
Document Verification: Candidates who clear the skill test round will have to produce the original documents and certificates for verification.
Exam Pattern:
The following is the exam pattern for the SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Recruitment Exam 2022:
Computer-Based Examination:
- The exam will be conducted in online mode. b. The total duration of the exam is 2 hours (120 minutes). c. The exam will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions. d. The exam will be divided into three sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension. e. Each section will have 50 questions and carry 50 marks. f. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
Skill Test:
- The skill test will be conducted to assess the candidate’s stenography skills in either Hindi or English. b. Candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English/Hindi at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade D. c. The transcription time for the dictated passage will be as follows: i. For Stenographer Grade C: 40 minutes (English) or 55 minutes (Hindi)
